I am very happy with this chair. It is a stunning design,made of high quality materials and very comfortable. The customer service is impeccable. A couple of questions before the sale were swiftly answered, so were a couple of questions after assembly. The chair was very easy to put together and instructions how it all works sent by email. I can recommend.

It’s quite a tall order to find a good quality Eames chair. The main pitfalls are build standard and whether it’s leather or not. Some claim to be “soft compound leather”, for example, which turns out not be leather at all. So after a lot of research it really only came down to Modborn. I had some questions (see above) and their pre-sales over the phone was amazing – genuinely helpful, kind and patient. Despatch was for the next working day and they use the fantastic DPD for their deliveries – the best-organised of all delivery companies I’ve experienced (this becomes important when you miss their first delivery attempt!) The chair itself is everything it’s cracked up to be – no build or quality qualms whatsoever – and with beautiful (genuine) leather. I put it together in five minutes but then noticed there was’t a user-guide for a couple of the controls. I called up, received big apologies that it hadn’t been included and within ten minutes a pdf was in my inbox. At the same time, I asked about a second chair and was immediately offered a discount. So. all in all, an exemplary company to deal with and I wouldn’t hesitate in recommending them.

I bought a Mies van der Rohe Barcelona style love seat and 16 Eames office chairs from this supplier three months ago as part of an office refurb. Both items look true to the originals, are well made, and the leather, which is often where reproduction furniture fails to live up to the originals, is very soft and smells like leather (ie it doesn’t have that chemical smell which generally signifies low quality leather). The price was very competitive and delivery was efficient. I will be using this supplier again and would recommend them to anyone.
