Achille Castiglioni (1918-2002) was an Italian designer of furniture, lighting, radiograms and other objects. He was one of the 20th century’s greatest designers and often called “A seminal designer of modern times”. He was particularly influential in Italy as part of the golden generation of industrial designers, who contributed to the country’s economic resurgence after World War II by developing products, which persuaded postwar consumers to pay a little extra for “the Italian line.”
