The first Eames lounge chair and ottoman was made by Charles and his wife Ray Eames as a gift for Billy Wilder, the director of “Some Like It Hot,” “Irma La Douce,” and “Sunset Blvd.” The heritage of the chair goes back to the molded plywood chairs pioneered by the Eames in the 1940s.

Each Individual Leather panel is Hand Stitched
All cushions are removable and attachable. Velcro at the back of all cushions.

ultrafast delivery to Germany. O.K. its not the original, but for a tenth of the price, it’s definitly value for money! I had a look at some italian replicas, which have poorly made woodwork, compared to these, the quality of the modborn chair is outstanding. The assembly is best made with a helping hand and the provided hex-wrench broke during assembly! Now let’s do the test of time and see how long i really enjoy the chair lounging, of which i was dreaming for years…

Since last week Modborn’s Eames Lounge chair is part of our living room. After long survey on the web and all the frightening stories about poor materials (fake leather and poor finishing) I was really sceptical about the competitive prices listed in the ModBorn webshop. The reason for placing my purchase was because of the positive rating on Ebay and Amazon, the short delivery time and the quick and polite customer service answering all my questions (and sending a leather sample on beforehand). The good impression continued while the whole ordering and shipping process (endless 4 days shipping to Germany (delivered by Hermes)).Very good and the wooden and aluminium parts are nicely finished from all visible sides: the build quality of this chair is above our expectations and I hope to enjoy this beautiful piece of furniture for a long time.

Wonderful chair, good quality for the price except the turning base system (too strong need some oil) and the back chair attach system not easy to understand. Thanks a lot, I’ve got mine in France only 5 days after making the order. Sure I will order new furnitures on this website.
